Water Filtration System

Welcome to my blog, I am Semajah and I go to GCE Lab School and for this class is WATER and what we do experience real-world advantages & disadvantages and collaborate our knowledge on which what we learned.

For this project is we tested different type water with pH meters and we took an FE (field experiences) to the water filtration center and we looked at how they cleaned water and what's the process to make water available to people in the world. So we gathered that information and decided to make our own filtration system.

Materials:
- Plastic water bottle
- Coffee filter
- Fine Sand
- Charcoal
- Coarse sand
- Rocks
- Bottle top
- Scissors
- Cup of dirty water

The reason why I pick this filter design is, because I felt like this would really clean or make the water clearer because when using the black pallet it caught all of the condiments and dirt molecules and once the water was going down I believe the dirt in the water soaked inside the sand and the rocks also caught it. Then when it came down the water stopped at the coffee filter and came down. When I was filtering it the water took about 10-15 mins to filter because it had to go through the process + when I poured the water it was bubbling at first.

This water also relates to groundwater, because the water that I used was river water mixed with dirt and the water that we drink mostly is groundwater we just gave a filter system where the people clean it to make it available for us. Also, this relates to the groundwater filtration because where they clean and purifies the water they add these items in the process but it's been updated so not really plus the water looks clearer but not potable.

In conclusion, this really helped me and made me realize that people that don't have access to clean water can do what I did and have clean or at least some potable water to drink. This also helped me by learning that if I'm somewhere that doesn't have potable water, I can grab these items & make some water for my self.
