Fruitvale Station

In my class Ollywood we study and learn about pre-production which is the before action in production and the elements of film and the critiques of it. We also take FE's which stands for Field Experiences, and we took one to the Goodman theater because we watch the movie "Christmas Carol" and we compared it to play and we critiqued it. So me and my partner been working critiquing our own movie which is "Fruitvale Station", watch the video below to understand what we've learned about in this this movie and how we critiqued it. Down below you would see me and my partner's video of this movie and also examples of different shots.

Groggy Dundee, Got Killed, Movie Clip. 2015. (Oscar Grant)

This shot is of Oscar Grant killed when the Police ( Officer Ingram) shot him in the back. This shot is interesting to me because the angle really shows the effects of what the director wants people to see. I believe for the director's perspective they wanted us to view him in feeling the pain that he went through.

Daniel Chen, Daughter Tatiana, 2018

This shot is the daughter of Oscar Grant played as Tatiana known as Ariana Neal. This scene is describing when her mom (Sophina) is describing to her that her dad Oscar Grant isn't here right now. It's kind of sad to me because the mom knowing that the dad is dead in which is letting the daughter know something is wrong. Sorts of leave the audience wide open to questions and assumptions to what exactly happens next. Which this image is the end of the movie by the way.

Hunter, Daddy Daughter Conversation, 2013

This scene is really interesting me me only because he is showing his daughter that even though he is a "bad" person he still wants to show "princess" that he can still love her and do the great things he want to for her. After him knowing that he just witnessed a dog being killed by a car he still has sympathy not in being sad but there for his daughter.

Fruitvale Station, Movie CLIP, Fight on the Subway. 2013

This shot is describing a shot on Micheal B. Jordan known as Oscar Grant in conflict with Joey Oglesby known as Daniel Cale and they made a fight on the train which when they had some tension in jail and tried to settle it on the train which caught him and his friends to get in trouble by the police in a couple scenes further.

Here's a video to explain more:
