The Study of the Impacts of Isolation on Adolescent Psychology
In Argument, we have been learning about how to argue, why we argue, and when to argue. A few topics came in handy with a major load of research and the ability to know.
How has isolation affected individuals, especially adolescents, in school?
I write this Declaration on behalf of my fellow people who have/had experience with “Adolescent isolation”. The need to dig deep into this topic because from the beginning of 2020 around March-April a strand of sickness called Covid-19” or “Coronavirus” happened, in which many things have changed. People have suffered, died, and mourned from this sickness. As months went by, the virus got worse. Which lead the U.S to do a terminal shutdown, stores, restaurants, boutiques, and even school. If necessary, when coming out face masks that cover your mouth and nose were mandatory.
The purpose of this declaration is to bring awareness to the “Study of the Impacts of Isolation on Adolescent Psychology”. During the past 4-5 months, virtual school has been an impact on my life socially. I am a very extroverted person, so in relation to “quarantining” really wasn’t in my category. School takes a very important part of your life from ages 5-year-old- 20 years old, high school is a very important grade level to me. It’s that part that determines your lifestyle and how you want to live your life. Taken with evidence quoted by “Online vs. In-person” , “Taking a course online, instead of in-person, reduces student success and progress in college. More specifically, the estimated effect is a 0.44 grade point drop in course grade, which amounts to one third of a standard deviation decline.” This quote relates more on college, but I take it into consideration as of now. Many high school students especially seniors & juniors are having a tough time with school with tests, finals, etc.
In conclusion, I declare things to be changed and rotated for the better. Schools can have ways to contribute to learning in a more focused and attained way. To have In-person with some rules & regulations about social distancing during Covid-19.
